Auto-ending & inactivity

  1. 01

    When a stream ends itself

If a broadcast runs without any active audio for a while, the studio shows a Stream still active? prompt with a short countdown. Confirm with Keep streaming to continue. If nobody confirms before the countdown runs out, the session ends automatically so empty streams don't run forever.

The studio shows this prompt when a stream has gone quiet. Click Keep streaming to stay live.
  2. 02

    What keeps a stream alive

A stream stays alive as long as any host, speaker or OBS input is publishing audio. That holds during music or quiet pauses, and even when the studio tab is closed and only OBS is connected. Listeners do not count as activity.

    Tip

An OBS-only broadcast keeps running on its own. You don't need to leave a studio tab open just to avoid the timeout.
  3. 03

    Maximum runtime

Independently of activity, a single broadcast ends after a maximum runtime of 10 hours. Start a fresh session to continue beyond that.
